Hawaiian Quilt Collection

Hawaiian Quilt: A  bold take on self-expression in this classic combination of ocean blues with a pop of pale yellow reminiscent of the sands of the beaches of Hawaii. The quilt collection was inspired by Hawaii's Queen Liliuokalani, the only queen regnant and the last sovereign monarch of the Hawaiian Kingdom. In 1895 Queen Liliuokalani was imprisoned in her own palace by usurpers in a second floor room of Iolani Palace to maintain peace and save her people. While imprisoned to pass time and secret messages the Queen and two of her ladies in waiting started to make a quilt while she was imprisoned. In 2020 as a global community we were all held captive by the pandemic. Queen Liliuokalani's perseverance and sacrifice for the greater good of her people inspired this collection. We hope this bold print excites and inspires you as much as it does us. IMUA! (Imua in Hawaiian is a fight chant and means to push forward with perseverance, purpose and dignity).
